TRACEY LEE LORENSON

Tracey joined Paragon in July of 2006, building on her previous experience both practicing law and as an executive manager of both technology and operations.

Immediately prior to joining Paragon, Tracey worked as the Executive Vice President and Corporate Counsel for E-Comm (Emergency Communications for Southwest BC) which is the integrated emergency provider for Southwest BC. E-Commís business includes: operation of the private radio system used by police, fire and ambulance; handling 9-1-1 calls for the region and performing police and fire dispatch. As its Executive Vice President, Tracey handled all aspects of E-Commís external business relations, and in addition to acting as in-house counsel to the corporation she also was responsible for both the wireless and information technology functions.

Prior to joining E-Comm, Tracey practiced workplace law (including labour, employment and human rights), and represented clients at trial, arbitration and administrative hearings.Most recently she practiced workplace law for municipal clients at Lidstone, Young, Anderson, and prior to that she worked at Harris & Company.

Tracey's recent work is divided into three main areas:

  • training and advising on procurement, contract management and negotiation,
  • human resources and leadership training and consulting, and
  • public safety governance and strategy.

Tracey has taught courses on business and leadership at both the university and college levels, has written articles and has led team and management workshops on topics including labour relations, leadership, corporate coaching, creativity, succession planning as well as a variety of legal issues.


Recently Tracey has been working with a diverse range of clients facilitating both departmental business and strategic planning sessions, including stakeholder consultation and assisting with developing action plans to assist managers in the execution of strategy.
