HUMAN RESOURCES AND LABOUR RELATIONS

As a Certified Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP) and having practised labour and employment law for more than ten years, Tracey Lee Lorenson is uniquely suited to assist clients with human resources and labour relations in both union and non-union contexts.

As a former Vice President of Human Resources, Tracey also understands that many of the programs and initiatives introduced to managers and human resources professionals are unwieldy and difficult to manage, leading organizations to abandon them.

Our focus is on working with clients to design programs that "hit the ground running", so the impact on the organization is felt in the short term, and so that overworked managers are not burdened with another initiative that doesn't provide short term (as well as long term) value. Our coaching experience allows us to support managers in building the skills and abilities to support programs long after Paragon's involvement has ended.

In addition, we are well aware of the need to align initiatives both with other projects and programs in the organization, as well as the organization's culture.

Depending on your requirements, we can work on a retainer basis (supporting managers and human resources professionals on an ongoing basis), or assist with specific projects.

Paragon has specific expertise in:

  • Working with management teams during times of change to identify opportunities or impediments (for example cultural or labour relations issues);
  • Succession planning - identifying needs, building competency models, developing internal potential and targeting external sources of talent;
  • Customized trainings to familiarize managers and supervisors with the specific provisions of YOUR collective agreement, as well as its relationship to policies and legislation;
  • Organizational culture and engagement surveys to identify top human resources priorities;
  • Web-based recruitment and hiring; including online assessments to assist in pre-screening candidates (and freeing up management and human resources departments to focus on strategic human resources initiatives);
  • Performance management consultation (individual and organizational), including development of programs that are easy to implement and manage;
  • Leadership and management development programs (including trainings for employees of smaller employers that are effective, affordable and easy to manage).
In addition, we have partnerships with other top human resources and labour relations experts that share our pragmatic focus in the event your project requires additional resources.

Please contact us for more information on any of the above, or to discuss initiatives specific to your workplace.
